Annual General Meeting

As the name suggests, this is a meeting with motions, election of executive members, awards presentations and other formal aspects of conducting club business. It is held over a weekend in November or early December, with the business generally being preceded or followed by a chili dinner and party, slide shows, and often games including the infamous 'squeeze machine' where cavers measure how tight a space they can fit through. Some members also put in a cave trip on the day before or after the meeting.

The AGM weekend is alot of fun, and a chance to catch up on the latest news and to meet members from other parts of Alberta. Membership dues for the upcoming year can be paid at the AGM, although both initial memberships and renewals are more easily obtained through this website (see Membership). There is a nominal charge for dinner. The AGM and associated events are usually held at a rented hostel, clubhouse or possibly at a member's house, and space for sleeping overnight is usually available to all. Contact an executive member or check the Events Calendar for dates and more details.
